To all FSA WOMEN,
Please join us for lunch at Costa Vida in Layton on Saturday, May 21 at 1:00 pm to celebrate Mother's Day together, even though it is 2 weeks after the holiday! This lunch is especially for the amazing women who are waiting to be mothers, and those who have become mothers through the miracle of adoption. It will be a relaxed setting where we women can connect with one another over our similar journeys toward motherhood. We will have a green balloon at our table so that you know where to go once you enter Costa Vida. It is the Costa Vida by the theater in Layton. We are combining this activity with the Layton Office, it should be a lot of fun!
We hope to see you there!

Don't forget chat group this month! We will be meeting at the home of Jeff and Elizabeth Reed at 7pm on Wednesday, May 18. We will have an adoptee who is about to leave on a mission come talk to us about being a teenager who was adopted. His mom will also be there to answer questions and tell their story. Chat group is a great way to get to know other adoptive couples! We hope you are able to make it.

Transracial Adoption Class: Breaking Stereotypes
We received the following information on a transracial adoption class, and wanted to pass on the information to all of you:
Please join us for our next transracial adoption class, Breaking Stereotypes, on May 13th at 6:30 pm. Associate Professor and researcher Andrea Hardeman will be teaching us what stereotypes are, how they impact our children of color, and how to address them. We will all benefit from this rich discussion on attitudes and beliefs on race.
Due to the popularity of these classes, we will hold this session in the conference room of the School Improvement Network at 32 West Center Street in Midvale. The building sits near the intersection of State Street and 7720 South (Center Street in Midvale).
Please R.S.V.P. if you are able to attend. Feel free to pass this information on to anyone who may be interested. We look forward to learning with you!
Please email us at centervillefsa@gmail.com for the information on where to RSVP to, as we do not want to give out personal information over our blog.
